Putrajaya is a planned city, 25 km south of Kuala Lumpur that serves as the federal administrative centre of Malaysia. The seat of government was shifted in 1999 from Kuala Lumpur to Putrajaya, due to overcrowding and congestion in the Kuala Lumpur area.
The streets are created luxuriously, designed with European-ish feels, along with firm roads while the government buildings are combination of contemporary architecture and since Kuala Lumpur is a dominant Muslim country it has a touch of Islamic arts. Commercial, authoritative and residential areas have been separated into precincts that harmonize to unify.
