Museums and Galleries Month
The Museums and Galleries Month is observed every month of October by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 798, s. 1991. Museums and Galleries Month highlights the value of cultural heritage as one of the foundations of nation-building. It recognizes the role of arts and culture in giving direction to the shaping of national destiny.
This year's theme is "Showcasing the Nation, Shaping the Filipino ImagiNation," emphasizing the valuable role of museums and galleries in arousing consciousness of our heritage. Museums and galleries all over the Philippines are spaces that narrate our history as Filipino people, and at the same time, paints an image of where we are heading as a nation.
Artiste Museum joins this month's celebration by showcasing our ethnographic and archaeological collection of ritual and utilitarian objects from the Philippines. Through this collection, we aim to exhibit an image of unity vis-a-vis diversity.
