Korwar Ancestor Figure

Size: 7cm x 7cm x 26cm 

Description: This figure carved in the West Papuan Korwar have proportionally large heads. They are generally believed to contain the souls of venerated ancestors and are believed to intercede for their living descendants. This female figure has exaggerated facial features with a broad nose, a deep philtrum and protruding lips. Her helmet has a round peg designed with diamond patterns.
